PSHE enrichment
At Highfield we aim to find ways to enrich our school curriculum through clubs, event days and other opportunities.
WOW Walk to School
Highfield Primary School has been chosen once again to be part of an exciting nationwide challenge to encourage more children and their families to walk to school. WOW – is a year round walk to school challenge. It is delivered by Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking, to help as many children as possible experience the benefits that walking to school brings.
WOW is a pupil-led initiative where children self-report how they get to school every day. If they travel sustainably (walk, cycle or scoot) twice a week for a month, they are rewarded with a badge!
Autumn WOW Walk of Fame Challenge
Highfield finished in the top ten on the local (Trafford) leaderboard for the Autumn WOW Walk of Fame Challenge!
What a fantastic achievement!
Well done to everyone for taking part and achieving such fantastic results! Keep up the good work, walking to school and recording it with us.
Dog's Trust
'Dog's Trust' has visited Highfield many times to deliver workshops and assemblies based on how to be dog smart.
The safety workshop aimed to encourage learners to consider and implement a more compassionate, realistic understanding of what is safe and appropriate behaviour around both dogs they share their homes with, as well as those belonging to other people.

Over the school year each class will learn about the 5 ways to Wellbeing:
- Connect
- Be active
- Take notice
- Keep learning
- Give
The aim of these sessions are to support the children to celebrate their strengths, understand how the brain works, how to appreciate the people in their live and the world around them, build resilience and understand their emotions and feelings.
