Highfield Eco & School Council!
At Highfield, we strive to ensure we are looking after our environment and community as much as we can. We are always thinking of ways we can improve school in order to help the world around us. We are trying to recycle as much as we can, including stationary, printer cartridges, paper and other packaging.
We are working with Living Streets and their Walk To School Scheme to try and encourage more children to walk to school or park their car further away and walk. The children will record how they get to school each day and if they walk to school twice a week, then they will earn a badge at the end of each half term.
Each class has two Eco Councillors - one head and one deputy. We have a number of meetings throughout the half term that our councillors are invited to attend and share their ideas on a project or any new ideas on how we can improve the school and make it more eco friendly.
Keep checking the page for pictures of what we've been up to!
School Council
The School Council plays an important role in giving our pupils a voice and helping them feel involved in school life. Each class has two representatives—a councillor and a deputy—who are elected by their classmates. These pupils attend regular meetings throughout the year, where they share ideas, discuss issues, and help make decisions that improve our school.
