Ms Plant

Hello! I am excited to begin our learning journey together in Class 2.

Read on to find out more about me and my interests. Maybe we have something in common or perhaps you could share some of your interests with me when we meet.

Family/Home life

I live with my husband in a lovely little house on a quiet countryside lane.

I have three siblings and we are all very close in age and as siblings. My eldest sibling is my sister, Sian, then I have a brother called Sam and my youngest sibling is Jacob.

Sian is also a teacher and lives in Manchester. Sam is product designer and he lives in Edinburgh. Jacob is a photographer and he lives in Berlin.

I absolutely love dinosaurs and dogs but I don't have either, unfortuantely. I am out of the house too many hours to have  a dog... and I'm worried a stegosaurus would desptory our house while I'm at work! ;)

Favourite Books

When I was your age, I loved reading anything by Richard King-Smith. But now my favourite books to read are memoirs, essays and non-fiction books on a variety of subjects.

Hobbies and Interests

I am an avid knitter and enjoy doing it as a form of wellbeing time.

I also love getting into my garden at home and tending to the veg patch, as well as going for walks with my husband and my family.

If I'm not busy completing a new course or reading research, I like to keep busy by making things out of clay with my mum or going to the theatre to watch all types of art forms and also visiting museums, art galleries and places of historical relevance or watching live music with my husband and my family.

Favourite Food

Where do I begin. I absolutely LOVE food. There isn't much that's off the table for me (pardon the pun). When I have a bit more time over the weekend, I love to cook and sometimes enjoy baking... particurarly Delia Smith's cheese scones!

I love to cook and eat all things Italian and also all seafood, and my comfort food is fried chicken, especially Korean style. I also love the Sicilian street food snack 'Panelle', and anything savoury, such as olives and cheese... the smellier the better!

Favourite Team

When I was younger, I was a HUGE fan of Manchester Untied and The Class of '92.

Now I am not such a great fan of football but love to watch cricket, particualrly the T20 and also Manchester Originals in The 100.

Favourite Film

I love a good gritty Film 4 film, as well as old musicals and old films, and cult films.

Some of my favourite films include Calamity Jane,  Paper Moon, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, The Land Before Time and My Neighbour Totoro.
